‘Verso’ is a series of paintings in which I “reproduce” canvases and panels by different painters. Maintaining the exact dimensions of the reference painting, I remove every information related to shape and color, focusing on the eyes of the characters represented and on the direction of their gazes.
This work refers to the canvas ‘Salmacide abbraccia Ermafrodito’ by Francesco Albani, preserved at Galleria Sabauda in Turin.
